TOUR OF DUTY

Tour of Duty is a scheme recently proposed by the Indian Army. It is a three year short service to work as an army official. There numerous other countries that have used this type of scheme. This will be alike an internship of three years for which youths will be paid the tax-free amount of 5 to 6 lakhs at the end three years along with 2 to 3 lakhs for other requirements. In addition, this will also help the youth to be disciplined, diligent, confident, and committed man.

The scheme is launched in lieu to tackle the situation of high paying pension and salaries to army officials, rising unemployment, etc. In today’s time for one army official, the cost is about 5 to 6.8 crore for 10 to 14 years whereas with the help of this scheme the cost per official will be about 80 to 85 lakhs for 3 years. Furthermore, it will increase the employment opportunities as there the condition of employment is worst beforehand.

This short service will also help to increase analytical thinking, planning skills, administrative and organizational abilities. The benefits of the Tour of Duty is that the youth will have further all facilities will be available to them like canteen and health facilities and many more along with their choice if they wish to continue to work as a permanent army official, then  they will be allowed to it if they are fit and fine. These officials who leaves short services are given priority in the corporates as they require the disciplined, committed and diligent employees. This will be a great opportunity for the youths as well as for the country.

WORLD’S POPULATION TO PEAK BY 2100 AND DECLINE

A report published by the Lancet recently projected that the population of the world will reach a peak of 9.37 billion by 2064. It is far before the United Nation’s report projected a peak of 11 billion population by 2100. The report was prepared on the basis of the Global Burden of Disease Study 2017. This report is an eye-opening for all the countries as it shows their population trends how it will be in the coming future. The report also shows that the working-age population is also going to decrease drastically in the coming years.

The report also contains the Population Trends of India and it shows that by 2100 India will be the most populous country in the world. It has projected that India’s population will reach its peak by 2048 and the population will be around 1.6 billion, while the population in 2017 was 1.38 billion. India will become the 3^rd largest country with respect to total GDP (Gross Domestic Product) globally. The report has also forecasted that India will be the most populous country in the world and will be followed by Nigeria and China.

This report has forecasted that the population of 23 countries will decrease by 50% percent of their current population. By the end of the 21^st century, Total Fertility Rate (TFR) of 183 countries will be less than 2.1. It also shows that the TFR of India will decrease to 1.66 by 2100. The life expectancy of India will be lesser among the top 10 world’s populous country but it will be more than that of 2017 that was 69.1 will rise to 79.3 in 2100. This report will help all the countries to formulate future plans as per the requirement as it acts as a path showing for them.
