WOMEN’S SAFETY

TIPS ON WOMEN'S SAFETY Photos, Images and Wallpapers, HD Images ...

Women’s Safety is a concept that includes all measures and practices taken to safeguard the life, health, and bodily uprightness of individual women. The National Crime Record Bureau report of 2018 shows that a total of 3,78,277 cases have been registered and might be more which are being held behind the curtains. According to WHO and many other resources it is found that out of three women every one woman becomes the victim of molestation, rape, sexual harassment, eve-teasing, etc. The report also shows that in India one rape occurs every fifteen minutes.

India, where the women are termed as the Goddess Laxmi and respected but the situation behind the curtain is contradicting. From very beginning people roots the gender inequalities in brains of the child in some manner, might not be intentionally but it ultimately leads to gender-based violence that includes domestic violence, sexual assault and rape, child marriage and forced marriage, forced prostitution, sex trafficking and plethora of other exploitation lies in society. In India, the cases of rape, dowry violence, sexual harassment cases, and child marriage, are the major crimes against women.

There are laws like Prohibition of Child Marriage Act of 2006, Dowry Prohibition Act of1961, Protection of Women From Domestic Violence Act of 2005, POCSO Act of 2012  and many others but only a few are perfectly enforced. The welcoming change in the law that was capital punishment for child rapists and the “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” program implemented in 2015 has also efficacious aftermath. Though there being proper laws due to the presence of loopholes they are infringed and convicts are left free. In many occasions, it is found that due to ineffectiveness of police, administrations, and existence of political influences the cases are clenched and remains unsolved

These problems have been rooted deeply in our society and to nullify it the early education should be a must for child and avoiding any type of discrimination against boy and girl child will also act as an equalizer. The government and individual organizations should run the awareness program which will conclude long term solution for it and also the proper strict laws for heinous crime should come into force. A behemoth social revolution is needed to extract such problems form the root.
